Scent of Sabotage by Dana Mentink gives readers one thrilling ride. Beth Wolfe never dreamed she’d meet the son she put up for adoption when she was a teenager, but nothing could prepare for her ex to show up saying their son is in trouble. Together they get trapped in a creepy amusement park, trying to escape killers while they try to rescue their son and his finance’.

I love this second chance/reunion trope. Usually stories don’t center around older main characters, but Beth’s kids are all grown and she reconnects with her first love, Jack St. James. I also love the interesting reunion between Beth and her son – not your typical reuniting story. The action and suspense were fantastic. I listened to the audio version and the narrator did a decent job of bringing the characters to life. Definitely a novel you’ll want to binge read from start to finish.

If you like run-for-your-life suspense stories, you will want to read Fire Mountain by Dana Mentink. This is one of the fastest-paced suspense novels I’ve ever read. There is danger and action from page one. Kit Garrido wakes up from a truck crash to find a mystery man, a baby, a volcano ready to explode, and oh yeah, let’s just throw in a gunman hunting them all. To top it off, Kit has no idea what happened or where the baby came from. Cullen Landry saw the wreck and steps in to help, but they have to get off the mountain. Danger is everywhere.

I loved this story! Despite the fast-paced, I was able to relate to the characters and thought the author did a great job of throwing two strangers together to fight for their lives, while keeping them real and vulnerable. It’s a great mystery, disaster story, and suspense story all rolled up into one action-packed novel. Definitely move this book up on your TBR list this summer.

This book has everything for suspense fans. Lots of drama and danger. Anyone who reads Love Inspired Suspense will love this trade book, which is a longer version of a Love Inspired Suspense. There’s lots of time to fall in love the characters, and so many characters have big secrets to hide. I love a good “who-dun-it” story, and with everyone being trapped on the mountain, you know that one of them has to be behind the death threats. Everyone is a suspect, and the author did a great job of weaving in secrets and betrayals to keep readers guessing to the very end.

Now Mara wants answers, even if it means stepping into a killer's sights with her brother's best friend, rancher Levi Duke, as her only protection. But with someone who has everything to lose after her, uncovering a long-buried secret could save her life…or claim it.

Missing in the Desert cover and latte with a heartMissing in the Desert by Dana Mentick brings action-packed drama, suspense and danger to a desert setting. Mara Castillo and her brother are attacked when visiting the ranch Levi Duke bought. With Seth in the hospital, Mara decides to help Levi keep the ranch afloat. But someone doesn’t want her in town, and she starts to connect the attacks to her sister that went missing and was presumed dead.

Lots of action in this story made me a fan. I’ve never read anything by Dana Mentick, but I’m sure I’ll read more. From a fantastic setting to the mystery of Mara’s sister, the book kept me totally entertained from start to finish. I think this is probably one of the only cowboy books I’ve read, but I loved Levi Duke. His quiet yet steady mannerism was the perfect match for Dana’s feistiness. Great characters and an intriguing plot line made this an enjoyable story.

Overall Rating:
5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)

Suspense Rating:
5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)
