The Catch by Lisa Harris is the third in the US Marshals series. The entire series is fantastic, and I recommend starting with book one. The Catch is intense and fast paced. Deputy US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn team up again, this time to find a missing woman and an endangered child. But the case isn’t straightforward, and they find themselves on another manhunt. Madison also deals with the aftermath of finding out who murdered her husband, as well as understanding her increasing attraction to Jonas.

The Catch by Lisa HarrisThis book is exciting and chock full of plot twists. The Catch puts readers in the center of the action. But this story gives a lot of closure. Madison is finally able to learn the truth about her husband’s murder, and readers will love seeing the conclusion of the will they/won’t they get together relationship of Madison and Jonas. I highly recommend this series for fans of action, suspense and a little bit of a sweet romance.

I received an ebook review copy of this book through Revell and NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

The Chase book cover and coffee with latte art

The Chase by Lisa Harris picks up three months after The Escape. I think readers would be ok jumping into The Chase without reading the first story, but I can’t handle reading out of order and you’d miss a few key things.

The Chase brings Madison James and Jonas Quinn together again, this time to track down some elusive and dangerous bank robbers. Madison is still struggling with a lot of things, like her father’s illness and surviving a home invasion/shooting. Jonas deals with past regrets as well and is determined to find these criminals.

This is a fantastic series for fans of action. The entire story is a manhunt for the bank robbers, with lots of exciting twists and turns. But the chemistry between Madison and Jonas works well. They are partners, and while there is an underlying love interest, they both have that relentless drive to bring criminals to justice.

Definitely check this series out. It’s one of my favorites and I can’t wait for book 3.

Overall Rating:
5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)

Suspense Rating:
5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)

For fans of intense action, US Marshals, and epic adventures

Clearly, I like suspense. I love novels that bring non-stop action and twisted plots with lots of drama. I can’t think of a single thing The Escape by Lisa Harris was missing when it comes to that crazy, intense, life-or-death suspense on every page.

The story centers around two US Marshals, Madison James and Jonas Quinn. They are paired up for a prison transfer. Their plane crashes and one of the prisoners escapes. The Marshals must capture the fugitive before he kills again. The entire story is one epic man hunt through the mountains of the pacific northwest. Madison and Jonas have to rely on each other to get out of the woods, stay alive, and find the criminal before he manages to reach civilization and disappear.

The action and near-death situations give this novel a fast-pace feel, but the characters are likable and aren’t just running for their lives (although there is plenty of that). Madison is struggling with grief from the loss of her husband, and Jonas has a similar issue with a relationship that didn’t work out. They have a compatibility and camaraderie that makes them a great pair, whether it be on the job or more of a personal relationship.

Just a warning that this ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but the story is so intriguing that I couldn’t put it down. I kept saying I would read until the end of the chapter, but then just kept on reading. I literally lost sleep over this book! This is going to be one of my favorite series, I can already feel it. But sadly, I must wait for book two.

Overall: 5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)
Suspense: 5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)

For fans of FBI investigations, action and romantic suspense

My favorite kind of novel starts right in the middle of the action! The Traitor’s Pawn kicks off with an attempted abduction as Aubrey Grayson tries to make sense of why anyone would want to kidnap her. Aubrey’s long-lost friend from childhood, FBI Agent Jack Shannon, happens to be in town with an investigation of his own. Their paths cross as Aubrey realizes her connection to the FBI investigation. Aubrey’s involvement in the case becomes personal when she finds out why she’s the target.

I’m a fan of Lisa Harris. Her novels are always action-packed with lots of plot twists. I enjoyed the super-fast pace of The Traitor’s Pawn. The chemistry between the two main characters worked well, as they had been childhood friends that never wanted to wreck a friendship to take a chance on a romantic relationship. I liked the fact that Aubrey was in law enforcement and became part of the investigating team. While Jack felt protective, Aubrey held her own and I enjoy stories with strong female leads.

The story had a lot of depth while delivering plenty of intrigue. This gets a definite “must read” from me. It’s definitely a page-turner.

Overall: 5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)
Suspense: 5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)

For fans of intense action, suspense, and danger

Lisa Harris brings the suspense and action! I’ve been a fan for a long time, and her latest novel, Deadly Intentions, delivers high speed thrilling action, an intriguing plot line, and memorable characters.

Caitlyn Lindsey becomes suspicious of three recent deaths, all connected by the laboratory where she works. She realizes she could be next as she tries to prove these deaths weren’t accidental. She runs, and contacts police detective Josh Solomon, whose wife was killed during a home invasion. Josh realizes Caitlyn’s theory might be right on target, making him a target in the process.

“There were only two things she could think about. She was certain of it now. One, everything she’d thought might be true was true. And two, someone wanted her dead.”

Deadly Intentions

Deadly Intentions is full of action and plot twists. As Josh and Caitlyn go off the grid and run for their lives, they uncover a terrorist plot and race against time to find enough evidence to bring to the police. There’s plenty of life-or-death-run-for-your-life action and suspense, making Deadly Intentions one of my favorites from Lisa Harris.
