Expired Vows is a must read for romantic suspense fans. It’s the perfect combination of heart-stopping suspense mixed with all the feels! This is Laura Conaway’s debut novel writing in Lisa Phillip’s Last Chance County story world.

Trace Bently is paramedic with a ton of emotional baggage after his wife died. He can’t let her or the investigation go. But he never expected to run into Kelsey Scott. She was his wife’s best friend, and painful buried memories come flooding back. But someone wants Kelsey dead. The truth begins to emerge about his wife’s death, bringing Tracy and Kelsey closer together.

This is one of those stories that lingers with you long after you put the book down. I loved the depth of the characters and the chemistry between Trace and Kelsey. Their history is intertwined and they find healing together.

I can’t wait to read more from Laura Conaway! This was a fantastic addition to Last Chance County and I want to read more from her.

Over the Limit by Lisa Phillips takes readers on a wild ride through Las Vegas with ex-FBI-agent-turned-private-investigator Kenna Banbury. She’s looking for Maizie, a young girl in trouble, but Kenna’s no stranger to trouble. She gets tangled up in an FBI investigation and she can’t trust anyone. Even the FBI.

I love this series! Kenna is such a strong female protagonist. Each book in The Brand of Justice gets more exciting and action-packed.  Over the Limit also gives readers more insight into Kenna’s past. And Jax is back, trying to break through some of Kenna’s self-preservation armor.

You can pick up the series anytime, but I recommend all of the books, starting with Cold Dead Night. If you like fast-paced suspense-filled thrillers, look no further than The Brand of Justice series.

Quick and Dead by Lisa Phillips gives readers more Kenna Banbury. This is book 3 in the Brand of Justice series (but you can pick it up at any point.)

Kenna finds herself in hot water from page one. Another town that needs her help. Hatchet, NM, has plenty of secrets, and Kenna makes it her mission to stop a killer from hurting any more innocent people. But she becomes a target and can’t trust anyone.

I love the intensity of the Brand of Justices series! This book brings the action, plot twists, and crazy situations that Kenna has to face. Now she has a rag-tag team behind her with Stairns and Jax. But Kenna puts her life on the line to stand up to a secret organization that has far reaching power.

Be sure to check out the entire series! Especially if you are a fan of thrillers.

Last Chance County is back, with more heat and action like the original series. Expired Return by Lisa Phillips brings readers back to Last Chance, but this time, the story focuses on the town’s new and improved Fire and Rescue team. No need to read the first series, but why not?

Allen Frees survived a fire that left him in a wheelchair. But that doesn’t stop him from taking a job as a liaison between City Hall and fire department. The job is challenging, especially after the last fire chief left the department in shambles. But his biggest challenge is when he discovers his ex, Pepper Miller, is back in town along with her niece she’s raising. They all wind up in danger when someone tries to kidnap Pepper’s niece.

I love a story with lots of secrets, and Expired Return has plenty. Pepper left Allen because of her family, and she has to come to terms with her past if she wants Allen in her future. But Lisa Phillips packs in plot twists that will keep readers’ heads spinning. Lots of action and suspense make this a fast-paced story, but the characters will stick with you long after you’ve put the book down.

Definitely check out Expired Return for all the drama and suspense you remember from the original series and meet the new Fire and Rescue department of Last Chance.

If you love fast-paced thrillers, definitely check out Burn the Dawn. With so many twists and turns, this book is a must-read. You don’t have to read the first in the series, but Cold Dead Night is equally thrilling. Kenna makes the perfect heroine, strong and independent, yet likable. Her complicated past continues to haunt her, and readers catch a glimpse of the real Kenna with each novel. Be sure to check out Burn the Dawn before Quick and the Dead comes out in February. Based on its description, I can’t wait to get this one in my hands.

Wilderness Hunt by Lisa Phillips in one non-stop action ride! Police Officer Kelly Wayne and her dog Nico try to track down a missing witness. But when she finds Ethan Harrington, he has amnesia and has no idea who he is or why he’s running from men with guns in the woods.

I love a story where nothing is as it seems. There were so many plot twists I had whip lash. Kelly and Ethan make a great couple right from the start, but the odds are stacked against them since they are being chased the whole book by men with big guns. If you love fast-paced suspense, complex plots, and plot twists galore, look no further than Wilderness Hunt.

Allegiance by Lisa Phillips gives readers more suspense and action from Benson! Picking up where the Last Chance Downrange series left off, the first story in the Benson First Responders series focuses on Freya Olson. She’s an EMT, but she finds herself stuck in the center of Detective Lucas Westbrook’s current case. Their lives intertwine as someone is out to get Freya and Lucas needs to solve the case before it’s too late.

I love this new series! Of course, there’s plenty of twists, turns, danger, action, and suspense that Lisa Phillips’ fans have come to expect from her stories. But Freya and Lucas are memorable characters and make an excellent team.

If you haven’t read any of Lisa’s books, you can jump into Allegiance without missing a beat. I’m looking forward to another fast-paced and entertaining series and can’t wait for the next book to release.

I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Welcome to the Blog + Review Tour for Cold Dead Night by Lisa Phillips, hosted by JustRead Publicity Tours!

“Without the nightmares, she would never see him anymore. Those last hours with him were all she had now. One day time would steal them, the way a killer had stolen Pacer’s hope at the very end. After that, she’d no longer be able to recall how he smelled, or the feel of his arms around her. The memories they’d shared would grow stale. Even the terror of those few hours would be muted. Gone.
Forever.” – Cold Dead Night by Lisa Phillips

Lisa Phillips has outdone herself with this new thriller series called Brand of Justice. Cold Dead Night features Makenna Banbury, a former FBI agent turned private investigator after she barely escapes from a killer. But someone doesn’t want her to retire as her business card shows up at multiple crime scenes.

This fast-paced thriller will have readers hooked from page one. Kenna makes a strong, no-nonsense heroine with a tortured past. She solves crimes to make up for that one investigation that ended in tragedy. Wanting to be independent and alone, she gets pulled into an FBI investigation where she is forced to play well others. Or at least try to.  FBI Special Agent Oliver Jaxton adds a nice balance to Kenna as he tries to break through some of her tough exterior. While there’s not a lot of romance in this story, could there be a romance brewing in future books in the series? #TeamJax all the way.

But what makes this story are the plot twists. I love the action on every page, and every chapter ends on one fantastic cliff-hanger after another, making me read way past my bedtime.

If you want high-octane suspense and action, pick up Cold Dead Night. But you won’t be able to put it down, so proceed with caution.

I received an ebook review copy of this book from the author. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Terminal Velocity by Lisa Phillips ramps up the intensity times 10! The entire Last Chance Downrange series is a wild ride, and Terminal Velocity gives readers plenty of action, suspense and plot twists. This story reveals more about Casper, the mysterious guy who showed up in the previous novels. He’s basically been given a last chance to stay in the Accountant’s Office program – and he’s exiled to be a cook at a camp where Sara Carlton is also forced to volunteer. Both don’t want to be there but realize the camp has some shady stuff going on. The two become targets of criminals with ties to Sara’s past.

I always love Lisa Phillip’s novels. There’s always crazy twists and intriguing characters. This is a fast paced and exciting story – you probably could read this as a stand-alone, but why not read the entire series? I’m looking forward to the new Brand of Justice series releasing soon!

Hollow Point by Lisa Phillips brings the action!  Remember FBI Agent Stella Davis from Point of Impact? She’s back with her own story. While this is the third in the Last Chance Downrage Series, you could probably read this out of order and be ok. (I’m not ok with reading out of order, but the choice is yours.) Stella is on a mission for justice and is thrown together with police officer Eric Hummet on an interagency task force. Eric’s family is bad news and are also the target of the investigation. Eric and Stella work together to track down some missing bombs. But the explosions might be real or could be from the romance heating up between the two.

If you like suspense, action, plot twists, quirky characters and plenty of bad guys, this book is for you. The entire series is chock full of intensity, but this story is quite a treat for suspense fans. But you won’t have to wait long for more in Last Chance Downrange as Terminal Velocity releases June 30th.
