If you are a fan of second chance or reunion stories – you’ll love Scent of Hope. Jericho Bowie and Harley Tatum both have pasts they try to escape by running away. But when circumstances bring them both back to Copper Mountain, they get a second chance to make things right–and stop a criminal.

I love that sparks fly between Jericho and Harley, but danger awaits with every turn of the page. Jericho’s search and rescue dog, Orlando, steals the show, but the part that resonated with me was the healing journey the hero and heroine go through by returning to their roots. By coming home, they find what they’ve been missing. And, as with most SMW novels, the unique setting gives the story a magical and unique backdrop.

Also, I highly recommend this series on audiobook. The narrator has become one of my favorites and he really brings the story to life for me.

Last to Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn is the last book in the Gossamer Falls series. And this is the one fans were waiting for. Bronwyn Pierce and Mo Quinn have hated each other for two books, but have enough chemistry between them to burn down the entire town.

This story dives into the past. What happened between these two? But when Bronwyn is a target and her company is in jeopardy, Mo refuses to leave her side.

I love this entire series. It has heart, second chances, loveable characters, and some incredible scenery. I love stories with a close-knit community and small-town feel. And of course, I’m a big fan of the danger, suspense, and action.

Be sure to check out the entire Gossamer Falls series.

Raging Waters by Dana Mentink is a non-stop adventure. The Elements of Danger series is all about the natural disasters. Last book was a volcano erupting, but in Raging Waters, the dam is about to break. Mackenzie Bardine and Gideon Landry are thrown together – too bad they’ve been enemies for some time after the death of Mackenzie’s brother. Zee will stop at nothing to vindicate her brother’s death, but the more she learns about his cold case, the more danger tries to shut her down.

I love run-for-your-life suspense. Mackenzie and Gideon are outrunning flooding waters and bad guys with guns.  The book starts off with amazing plot twists – right in the first chapter. Mackenzie is a strong-willed character, and maybe a bit too focused on her mission to resolve her brother’s murder, but I love the transformation as she lets go of her agenda. I definitely love a good character arc.

Be sure to check out Raging Waters for a wild and intense ride!

Susan May Warren is back with a whole new series. And it comes with everything you expect: wilderness, danger, heart-warming characters, romance, a hunky hero, and a dog named Caspian that steals the show.

Keely Williams is on a mission  in Alaska to find her biological mother. But when her plane is hijack, she’s stranded in a blizzard. Enter Dawson Mulligan, former police officer, to the rescue.

Be prepared for all the drama and action you can handle. Plane crashes, fires, and blizzards bring Keely and Dawson together. But they couldn’t be more opposite. She’s secretly a pop star named Bliss, and Dawson has enough emotional baggage to keep him sideline from love. But when you’re on the run from killers in the wilds of Alaska, emotional bonds are formed. Keely finds herself in love with Alaska, the people around her, and of course, Dawson Mulligan. And bonus, Susan May Warren always has characters from her prior series making cameos. Fans of SMW will be so happy.

I loved the audio narrator! Brian Hutchinson is my new favorite narrator. He had great pacing and I enjoyed the narration.

On the Edge of Trust brings readers back to Logan Point! If you’re like me, you remember the original Logan Point series by Patricia Bradley…it remains one of my favorites to this day. But this story focuses on Tori Mitchell, a true crimes podcaster who ticks off a killer with her investigative reporting. Someone is out to get her – maybe even a few people. When her family life and her work life collide, she heads to Logan Point. She wasn’t expecting to stay long, but meets Scott Sinclair, who jumps in to help her investigation – and keep her safe.

This story has it all – an intriguing plot, danger, a hunky yet wounded hero, and lots of suspense. I enjoyed the story from the first to last page. The author weaves an intricate mystery into a small-town setting with heartwarming characters you’ll love to root for. And there are a few cameo appearances from characters from the original Logan Point series. I highly recommend On the Edge of Trust for fans of small-town romantic suspense.

What a great start to a new series! Kate Angelo’s Girl Lost is the very best in suspense! Luna Rosati returns to her roots. She wants to find the baby she gave up for adoption – who is now a teenager. But Luna runs into the one man she didn’t want to see, her ex Corbin King.

This story has it all. Intrigue, suspense, plot twists, and relatable characters. I love stories with found families, and this series focuses on an MMA gym that diverts teenagers from jail. Stryker, the owner, creates a community and Luna and Corbin find themselves reuniting after growing up in the gym. The other characters come together to support Luna and Corbin in the investigation, which I love. The themes of second chances and family adds depth to the action-packed plot line. While this story is considered romantic suspense, it doesn’t shy away from a grittier storyline, and I like the edginess of the plot.

This is definitely a story to check out if you are a fan of fast-paced thrillers.

Final Approach by Lynette Eason brings the Lake City Heroes series to a close and it is one epic ride! You probably could read this as a standalone, but reading the entire series gives you more perspective on all the characters. Air Marshal Kristine Duncan is on a plane with her friends for some much needed R&R. Except the plane is hijacked mid-air. She jumps into action with her friend FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross and they get the plane on the ground. But the investigation has them reeling…and evidence points them in ten different directions.

I love intricate plot twists, surprise turns, and lots of danger. This story had me hooked from start to finish. Kristine and Andrew have one of those friendships where they both obviously want more…but between a complicated case and even more complicated personal lives, they can’t quite get the timing right.

The entire series is fantastic, and I love seeing some of the characters from the other books make appearances. They all work together as a team and show up for each other. If you love suspense, action, and romance, you’ll want to binge read the entire series. Final Approach is a fantastic conclusion to the series and you won’t want to miss this one.

If you like run-for-your-life suspense stories, you will want to read Fire Mountain by Dana Mentink. This is one of the fastest-paced suspense novels I’ve ever read. There is danger and action from page one. Kit Garrido wakes up from a truck crash to find a mystery man, a baby, a volcano ready to explode, and oh yeah, let’s just throw in a gunman hunting them all. To top it off, Kit has no idea what happened or where the baby came from. Cullen Landry saw the wreck and steps in to help, but they have to get off the mountain. Danger is everywhere.

I loved this story! Despite the fast-paced, I was able to relate to the characters and thought the author did a great job of throwing two strangers together to fight for their lives, while keeping them real and vulnerable. It’s a great mystery, disaster story, and suspense story all rolled up into one action-packed novel. Definitely move this book up on your TBR list this summer.

Break My Fall by Lynn H. Blackburn takes readers back to Gossamer Falls. If you love small town romances with a bit of suspense, this is your book. Meredith Quinn moves back home and brings the trouble with her. She’s got the support of her family and the police chief Grayson Ward and needs their help to stay safe. Seems that Meredith discovered information about a drug operation in a near-by county and has become a target.

I love Meredith. She’s spunky, head strong and loves her family and community. She’s got the support of her cousin Cal (from Never Fall Again), and her brother Mo, who’s story I hope is coming up. But the author really hits home with the theme of family in a tight-knit community. Gray is a bit of an outsider, and has to win over the Quinn family in his pursuit of Meredith’s heart all while trying to keep her safe. I love the character development as the series continues.

I highly recommend the entire Gossamer Falls series. The characters will feel like your best friends but there is plenty of mystery and suspense to keep you staying up way to late at night reading.

Serial Burn by Lynette Eason gives readers so much mystery and suspense. Fire Marshal Jesslyn McCormick has a stalker – sort of. Someone is starting fires and leaving clues that point to the arsonist that set the fire that killed Jessalyn’s family when she was young.  She’s been hunting the serial arsonist but he might have found her first. She teams up with FBI Special Agent Nathan Carlisle to help solve the case.  Sparks fly  between them (haha, see what I did there?) But both have to face off with the past if they want a future together.

I love the mystery in this story. I tried to piece together the clues along side Jesslyn. The story dives deep into Jesslyn’s past and watching her pull on threads that lead to her childhood kept me wanting to read more. And of course, the romance is a slow burn! Both characters have to resolve their past issues in order to move forward.

Serial Burn is a must read for suspense fans!
