Hours To Kill Susan SleemanHours To Kill Susan SleemanFor Fans of High Stakes Drama and Action

I’m a fan of Susan Sleeman’s romantic suspense, but the Homeland Heroes series has to be hands down my favorite. I love the interaction between government agencies as they save the country from terrorists and all sorts of evil.

Hours to Kill is book three in the series. You could probably read as a standalone, but books 1 and 2 give more back story on some of the other members of the elite Red team. This team consists of several different law enforcement agencies that have highly specialized skills. This story focuses on Homeland Security agent Addison Leigh. She’s about to break her case wide open, but has a car accident and can’t remember pieces of her life. Big pieces, like her estranged husband and Red team member Mack Jordan. Mack wanted to win her back, but now she doesn’t even recognize him. They also are running out of time to stop gun runners from smuggling assault weapons into the country.

I love the interaction between Addy and Mack. It’s as if he has to make her fall in love with him all over again. The plot is fact-paced with plenty life-and-death scenarios to take a reader’s breath away. Be sure to check out the whole series for some fantastic suspense!

Overall Rating:
5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)

Suspense Rating
5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)

For fans of race-against-the clock investigations, life-or-death plots, and danger

Minutes to Die by Susan Sleeman takes readers deep into homeland security investigations. The Red team is comprised of several different agencies responsible for tracking down terrorists and keeping Americans safe. Kiley Dawson heads up the investigation as all signs point to a massive terrorist attack to take place on the anniversary of 9/11. Her team races the clock to find the suspects and stop them.

This is the second in the Homeland Heroes series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Kiley teams up with ICE Agent Evan Bowers. He’s also an explosives expert, and naturally sparks fly between Kiley and Evan. They have a past together and Evan is the last person Kiley wanted to team up with. But they try to put aside their conflicting personal feelings to focus on their high stakes mission.

I loved the action, suspense and intensity this story brings. Millions of lives are on the line if Kiley’s team doesn’t unravel the terrorists’ plot and get one step ahead of them. This is a great book for fans of investigations – readers get an intense look at the Red Team in action. This is a must read for fans of high-adrenaline action and suspense!

Overall: 5 stars (I loved it, couldn’t put it down)
Suspense: 5 stars (Non-stop edge-of-your-seat suspense from start to finish)

For Fans of Action, Cyber-crimes, and US Marshals

Seconds to Live kicks off with the most dangerous scenario a US Marshal could face – someone’s hacked the database containing information on witness locations. US Marshal Taylor Mills teams up with an elite cyber-crimes investigative team to stop a hacker known as Phantom. Of course, sparks fly when FBI Agent Sean Nichols heads up the team, and Taylor meets him for the first time after only having chatted with him online.

This story brings action, drama and danger right into the reader’s lap. Taylor makes a great heroine, as she struggles with being too invested in protecting her witnesses. She and Sean make a dynamic pair as the two chase the Phantom while trying to protect the identities of thousands of witnesses. The stakes are high, and the heart-pounding action is higher. Lots of twists and turns will keep the readers in suspense until the very end. A must read for suspense fans.

I received a complementary ebook review copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
