This is the book I’ve been waiting for! I love suspense with a heaping side dish of wit. Spies Lies & Alibis by Natalie Walters is like a rom- com but for suspense fans. And I loved it!

Cybil Langford is on a secret mission and her ex, Ben Bradley might blow the doors wide open on her real identity. Except he’s also undercover for the FBI. The two dance around their past issues and their secret identities until old feelings rekindle. But can they shove aside past feelings to keep their missions on track? This book is fun but definitely gives thriller-spy vibes. I love the whole undercover scenario, where the hero and heroine have to keep up appearances without knowing what the other is up to–or who they work for. But don’t worry, there is plenty of danger for the suspense lovers.

I’m a big Natalie Walters fan. Her books have the danger, suspense, and thrills, but her humor shines through at the right times. She has perfected those perfectly timed comebacks and witty dialogue without being overdone. This book is my favorite pick for summer reading. Just sit back, relax on a beach somewhere and enjoy a fun, twisty, exciting read.

Scent of Sabotage by Dana Mentink gives readers one thrilling ride. Beth Wolfe never dreamed she’d meet the son she put up for adoption when she was a teenager, but nothing could prepare for her ex to show up saying their son is in trouble. Together they get trapped in a creepy amusement park, trying to escape killers while they try to rescue their son and his finance’.

I love this second chance/reunion trope. Usually stories don’t center around older main characters, but Beth’s kids are all grown and she reconnects with her first love, Jack St. James. I also love the interesting reunion between Beth and her son – not your typical reuniting story. The action and suspense were fantastic. I listened to the audio version and the narrator did a decent job of bringing the characters to life. Definitely a novel you’ll want to binge read from start to finish.
