I loved this romantic suspense adventure from Katy Lee. Danger lurks right from the start – Hunter Shelton and his search and rescue bloodhound arrive at a crime scene only to discover that his ex-fiancé has been murdered. But things get worse when he realizes her young daughter is missing – and it might be his daughter. He calls in DEA Agent Marlee Price to help him track the child down. But Marlee has her own problems because a drug dealer has put a hit out on her.

This book is chock full of action, suspense, and danger. But the characters are incredibly likable. Marlee is strong but needs to face her past. Hunter still regrets so many of his past choices as well. I love the second chances romance theme along with the spiritual message of forgiveness and letting go.

The narration for the audiobook was amazing! I think the narrator did a great job of bringing the characters to life.

What could be creepier than being stuck on a mountain during an avalanche with a killer on the loose?

Whiteout brings you two stories connected by a dangerous avalanche. In Buried in Shadows by Dani Pettrey, a ski party goes awry when everyone is trapped. Cassandra Parker is now stuck with her ex that she left at the altar…but a the killer is trapped with them. Which means the killer is someone they all know.

In Snowbound Secrets by Lynette Eason, Maya Sullivan faces her past when her high school crush steps up to protect her from a killer.

I love stories where characters are trapped. Nowhere to go, but the danger runs high. Fast-paced and intense, both of these stories had me on the edge of my seat. I received a review copy of the audiobook, and the narrator did a good job of matching the intensity of the story. I recommend the audio book for total immersion!

When Justice Comes is the conclusion of the three book series in the Tupelo Grove series. I do recommended reading the series in order, but feel free to live your live in chaos and jump in the middle. But you may miss some things.

This story brings a custody battle to the forefront. Hez and Savannah get ready to fight the Willard family for custody of her nephew, Simon. But danger lurks on every page, and there are a myriad of possible suspects. Who has the most to gain from silencing Hez and gaining Simon’s trust?

I’m convinced Colleen Coble and Rick Acker write in their own genre! This to me is a total family drama more than a romantic suspense, although there’s plenty of suspense to go around. Coble dives deep into family dynamics while Acker lends his legal knowledge to the plot. With two feuding families, an untrustworthy father, a blackmail scheme, dealing with loss, and the custody dispute, the characters deal with all the emotional fallout. I love the entire series! It’s kept me hooked, and I love the collaboration between Coble’s family drama style and Acker’s legal thriller. It’s a nice mix. I’m a little sad the series is ending.

I listened to the audiobook and it’s fantastic. Great narration and it definitely adds to the story to listen to it.

Deadly Rodeo Threat by Sami A. Abrams is an explosive, run from danger story. Isabelle Sinclair is determined to find her missing friend, and so is Logan Russell. He’s back in town to track down his missing twin. But when Isabelle is attacked, he steps in to help her investigate.

I love this story! From the danger to the romance, this story has everything I love. Working dogs, action, a great spiritual message, danger, second chance at romance, military men, a woman sheriff, and a serial killer on the loose. The story is fast-paced and digs deep. You’ll root for Isabelle and the crime is super creepy! If you like a fast moving story that has a strong message of hope and redemption, look no further than Deadly Rodeo Threat.

Hunting a Killer by Sarah Varland gives readers so many plot twists along with working dogs, amnesia, and second chances at love. Finn McDaniel faces off with a killer, but sustains a head injury. He knows who the serial killer is, but he can’t remember. Jordyn Williams discovers the injured Finn and works to help solve the case with her cadaver dog, Cipher.

I love a good amnesia story! And Finn and Jordyn have a history which makes their encounter full of drama and emotions. They get a second chance as they team up to hunt the killer. The same killer that took Finn’s sister’s life years ago. The story is fast-paced but with heart. The audio narrator did a great job of keeping me engaged. And of course, I love Cipher! If you like drama, action, and a good “who dunnit” storyline, be sure to grab your copy of Hunting a Killer.

Abducted in the Woods by Kerry Johnson is a fantastic, fast-paced suspense story. This is easily my favorite novel by Kerry.

Sarah Brindley witnesses a murder – her own husband. The murderer comes after her and kidnaps her son. Tucker Brindley, her brother-in-law, steps in to protect her and help find her son. But there is danger with every turn of the page.

I love the intensity of this story and was hooked from page one. The plot deals with some darker themes, but the author weaves in hope and second chances all throughout. I never thought I was a fan of second chance romance tropes, but I enjoyed the relationship aspects in this novel. The author took a complicated history between two characters and paved the way for them to find a future together. Abducted in the Woods is definitely a book to move up on your “must-read” list.

Book two in the Sanctuary series brings more danger, drama, and suspense than the first!

Prowl by Colleen Coble follows the story of an animal sanctuary owned by Blake Lawson. After discovering someone dead in the tiger enclosure, he uncovers a sinister plot – someone wants to steal the land from him. He’s still trying to find his footing with his relationship with Paradise Alden, but she consumed with finding her newly discovered brother.

I’m here for the drama! I love stories with complex plots, hidden danger, and hopeless, against-all-odds situations. Blake is on the cusp of losing everything. Someone from Paradise’s past is stalking her. This story takes readers on an adventure and an emotional journey.  Also, I love animals, so that aspect makes the story even more interesting. I can’t wait for book number three. I do recommend reading this series in order as it follows the same characters, so start with Ambush

Trail of Suspicion by Jennifer Pierce is chock full of danger, intrigue and some good old fashioned run-for-your-life suspense. Rory James is a crime scene technician with a cadaver dog named Moose. They find a body in the woods, and she becomes a target. The last person she wants to protect her is her ex Asher Mitchell.

I love the danger scenes in this story. Rory can’t go anywhere without stumbling head first into trouble. So many great plot twists and lots of action make this a must read for suspense fans — and quite a few betrayals! Rory can’t trust anyone. And of course, who doesn’t love a bloodhound named Moose. He steals the show.

I listened to this book on audio, and the narrator did a fantastic job with the pacing and keeping the story alive. I enjoyed listening to this book.

What a great start to a new series! Kate Angelo’s Girl Lost is the very best in suspense! Luna Rosati returns to her roots. She wants to find the baby she gave up for adoption – who is now a teenager. But Luna runs into the one man she didn’t want to see, her ex Corbin King.

This story has it all. Intrigue, suspense, plot twists, and relatable characters. I love stories with found families, and this series focuses on an MMA gym that diverts teenagers from jail. Stryker, the owner, creates a community and Luna and Corbin find themselves reuniting after growing up in the gym. The other characters come together to support Luna and Corbin in the investigation, which I love. The themes of second chances and family adds depth to the action-packed plot line. While this story is considered romantic suspense, it doesn’t shy away from a grittier storyline, and I like the edginess of the plot.

This is definitely a story to check out if you are a fan of fast-paced thrillers.
