Laura Scott’s Rocky Mountain Standoff gives readers a suspenseful ride. Judge Sidney Logan is being targeted because of her upcoming trial, and the criminals will do anything to stop the trial. Sidney goes on the run with the help of the US Marshals. Tanner Wilcox pulls out all the stops to keep Sidney safe, but he comes to care about the judge and her almost-adopted baby.

This story is action-packed. Explosions, shootouts, and plenty of plot twists kept me turning pages. Despite the constant threat of danger, readers really get to know the characters. Sidney isn’t the tough as nails rule oriented judge as she first appears. Tanner makes the perfect hero, putting his life on the line several times to save Sidney and Lily. And the banter between Tanner and his partner Colt keeps things light-hearted in the midst of the drama.

I enjoyed both Hiding His Holiday Witness and Rocky Mountain Standoff (Books 4 & 5 in the Justice Seekers series.) I hope the series continues because I’d love to read a story about Colt.

Hiding His Holiday Witness by Laura Scott gives readers plenty of action and danger. Robyn Lowry is a witness for a case involving an arms dealer, only the bad guys don’t want her to testify. Someone breaks into the safe house, and by the time US Marshal Slade Brooks finds Robyn, she’s fallen and hit her head. She can’t remember anything about the US Marshals, the case, or her past. Worse, the attacks keep coming and Slade and his partner go on the run with a witness who doesn’t remember anything.

I enjoyed this story. I’ve never read anything by Laura Scott and found this story action-packed and intriguing. Of course, I love action and there are plenty of plot twists and suspenseful moments that kept me flipping pages well past my bedtime. I also liked the romantic sparks between Robyn and Slade. If you are looking for a fast-paced story filled with memorable characters, look no further.

She comes to the aid of US Marshal Dominic O’Ryan, who is in pursuit of a fugitive who took down his partner. Katherine’s life intersects with Dominic’s mission when her brother is accused of murder and the killer targets Katherine.

This action-pack novel is pure excitement from start to finish. I love a strong heroine, and Katherine definitely holds her own under pressure. I like the whirlwind romance between Dominic and Katherine – nothing brings a couple together than trying to stay alive with a killer on the loose.

Definitely a five star suspense-filled read for me!

The Chase by Lisa Harris picks up three months after The Escape. I think readers would be ok jumping into The Chase without reading the first story, but I can’t handle reading out of order and you’d miss a few key things.

The Chase brings Madison James and Jonas Quinn together again, this time to track down some elusive and dangerous bank robbers. Madison is still struggling with a lot of things, like her father’s illness and surviving a home invasion/shooting. Jonas deals with past regrets as well and is determined to find these criminals.

This is a fantastic series for fans of action. The entire story is a manhunt for the bank robbers, with lots of exciting twists and turns. But the chemistry between Madison and Jonas works well. They are partners, and while there is an underlying love interest, they both have that relentless drive to bring criminals to justice.

Definitely check this series out. It’s one of my favorites and I can’t wait for book 3.

For fans of intense action, US Marshals, and epic adventures

Clearly, I like suspense. I love novels that bring non-stop action and twisted plots with lots of drama. I can’t think of a single thing The Escape by Lisa Harris was missing when it comes to that crazy, intense, life-or-death suspense on every page.

The story centers around two US Marshals, Madison James and Jonas Quinn. They are paired up for a prison transfer. Their plane crashes and one of the prisoners escapes. The Marshals must capture the fugitive before he kills again. The entire story is one epic man hunt through the mountains of the pacific northwest. Madison and Jonas have to rely on each other to get out of the woods, stay alive, and find the criminal before he manages to reach civilization and disappear.

The action and near-death situations give this novel a fast-pace feel, but the characters are likable and aren’t just running for their lives (although there is plenty of that). Madison is struggling with grief from the loss of her husband, and Jonas has a similar issue with a relationship that didn’t work out. They have a compatibility and camaraderie that makes them a great pair, whether it be on the job or more of a personal relationship.

Just a warning that this ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but the story is so intriguing that I couldn’t put it down. I kept saying I would read until the end of the chapter, but then just kept on reading. I literally lost sleep over this book! This is going to be one of my favorite series, I can already feel it. But sadly, I must wait for book two.

For Fans of Action, Cyber-crimes, and US Marshals

Seconds to Live kicks off with the most dangerous scenario a US Marshal could face – someone’s hacked the database containing information on witness locations. US Marshal Taylor Mills teams up with an elite cyber-crimes investigative team to stop a hacker known as Phantom. Of course, sparks fly when FBI Agent Sean Nichols heads up the team, and Taylor meets him for the first time after only having chatted with him online.

This story brings action, drama and danger right into the reader’s lap. Taylor makes a great heroine, as she struggles with being too invested in protecting her witnesses. She and Sean make a dynamic pair as the two chase the Phantom while trying to protect the identities of thousands of witnesses. The stakes are high, and the heart-pounding action is higher. Lots of twists and turns will keep the readers in suspense until the very end. A must read for suspense fans.
