Point of Danger

Point of Danger Irene Hannon
Radio talk show host Eve Reilly is used to backlash from her pot-stirring on-air commentary and interviews, but now it seems a disgruntled listener is resorting to more than angry words to express their displeasure. When a suspicious package arrives on her doorstep, Eve turns to law enforcement for help. Police detective Brent Lange can't find any evidence to link the string of unsettling incidents that follows, but he's convinced they're connected.

For Fans of Romantic Suspense and Drama

Point of Danger by Irene Hannon puts emphasis on the danger parts. The story revolves around Eve Reilly, an edgy ultra-conservative talk show host with viewpoints that put her in hot water with her critics. Several people want to see her silenced, and she receives multiple threats. As the threats escalate, police detective Brent Lange gets involved, professionally and personally with Eve.

I love the plot twists in this book! Lots of red herrings made me think just about anyone could have been the culprit. There’s lots of danger and action in this story, but there is quite a focus on the budding romance between Eve and Brent. Brent’s shell-shocked from prior relationships and has no idea how to be in one. Eve’s just an overall great character as a female lead that knows what she wants and doesn’t apologize to anyone for her beliefs. The ending had some shocking twists, but I gave this 4 stars because I felt like a few of the “red herrings” kind of faded into the night – I didn’t understand how they were connected to the story in the end. But all of the false leads and motives these characters had for wanting to stop Eve’s show really added to the story line.

Definitely check out Point of Danger. It’s an action-packed drama that will have you hooked, trying to piece together clues until the very end. I’m looking forward to the others in the series.
