Rising is a spin off
from the Tox Files series, so if you’ve had withdrawal after Thirst of Steel
ended, you will definitely want to be first in line to read Storm Rising.
Leif Metcalf
takes center stage in Storm Rising to form his own team to hunt down a
much sought after mystical artifact. Several characters from other novels make
some guest appearances, plus new characters team up to fight super powerful
storms, an illusion assassin named Viorica, and other mysterious forces.
As a fan of Ronie
Kendig, this novel brought all the usual chaos and action I’ve come to love
from her novels. The characters work their way into your heart as they face
impossibly perilous situations. The author creates characters that readers fall
in love with, but of course don’t get too attached, because you never know who
might not survive to the end of the story! Cross over characters are a bonus
but new ones will keep readers flipping pages. Of course this is the first in a
series so expect some cliffhangers.
If you are a fan of gut-wrenching adrenaline-fueled non-stop action and suspense, then this book has to be number one on your summer TBR list. Seriously, stop reading this review and get Storm Rising in your hands. Now. And don’t plan on sleeping anytime soon, because you’ll be tempted to read it cover to cover in one sitting.
